This image was shortlisted by Africa Geographic in their Photographer of the Year competition in 2020. 

Inger Vandyke is an Australian professional photojournalist and expedition leader that specialises in coverage of some of the world’s most remote and isolated places. Inger has a long-established career with her images and stories frequently published worldwide. She is a freelance contributor to Australian Geographic; Ocean Geographic and Asia and Africa Geographic. 

During the course of her career, Inger has been involved in numerous conservation programs, including sea turtle and wandering albatross research, hammerhead shark expeditions and the preservation of Critically Endangered species such as the Orange-bellied Parrot and Brush-tailed Rock Wallaby.

As the General Manager for British Photography company Wild Images, Inger also leads expeditions and photographic workshops around the world. These journeys focus on wildlife photography, remote area cultures and peoples in the Himalayas and Africa, and landscape photography.
