TITLE: Colonel Morgan Jones, Grand Old Man of Texas Railroading.

PUBLICATION DATA: 1971. Univ. of Oklahoma. First Edition.

A handsome pictorial biography of Col. Morgan Jones (1839-1926), who built, owned and operated half a dozen short-line railroads that connected to the main roads. He began his career as a construction foreman for Union Pacific, then moved on to the Texas & Pacific. Some of Jones' independent projects included the Wichita Valley Railway Co. and the Fort Worth & Denver City Railway. His influence on Texas can be seen mainly in West Central and North Texas. This is his story.

Condition report:

Mustard yellow cloth covers show little wear. Dust jacket is very good, save some creasing at its spine ends. 240 pages. A good looking copy of an uncommon Texas railroad history.
