One of the handsomest sets of books in all of Texana, Tom Lea's centennial history of the King Ranch combines elegant typesetting and gorgeous illustrations to tell the story of a Texas cattle empire. John Jenkins praised it and William Reese called it the "most exhaustive ranch history ever written, and a tremendous account of the cattle industry in south Texas." It's a beautiful, scarce set of books.
Condition report:
Books, in publisher's two-tone cloth, show little wear. Illustrated slipcase has tape repairs to bottom edge. I've never seen a copy without a split edge because the books are so dang heavy and the slipcase wasn't up to the task. 838pp total. Bindings are sound.
