AUTHOR: Jesse Ziegler

TITLE: Wave of the Gulf: Ziegler's Scrapbook of the Texas Gulf Coast Country.

PUBLICATION DATA: 1938. Naylor. First Edition.

When Ziegler was writing this book in the 30s, he was in his 80s. So his memory stretched way back to antebellum Galveston and Reconstruction. He moved to Houston in the 1880s and worked in the cotton industry there the rest of his life. This book is a sentimental journey though Houston and Galveston's past, and a rare one to boot.
