In 1881, something magical happened in South Texas - Uriah Lott completed a rail line from Corpus Christi to Laredo. Two of his biggest backers were Richard King and Mifflin Kenedy. They felt a celebration was in order for the inaugural run on the line. A special train, dubbed the King-Kenedy Excursion, was arranged to hold a band, two thousand cigars, an incredible amount of food, forty baskets of champagne, local dignitaries and a special car for King and Kenedy. This fine press book is a celebration of their celebration.
