“The inspiration for these glass paintings belongs to my parents. Their personal and professional flair for colour and design is reinterpreted and translated through the magnificent medium of glass.”
“These panels are reflective of my childhood in the 70s, based on memory, senses and style. The colours are metaphoric adjectives for those memories. The designs are in honour of the great creative gifts given to me so freely by my parents. And the ‘aesthetic’ needs to be credited to the Scandinavian designers whom my parents adored.”
Emma Borland has a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Glass) Honours, 2003 and a Master of Fine Arts (Glass), 2007 from Monash University.
