About this item

Two signed psychological mysteries by Alison Layland

Riverflow was published in June 2019 by Honno Press. In August of that year, Waterstones chose it as their Welsh Book of the Month, saying “The devastating effects of climate change are brought terrifyingly close to home in a gripping psychological novel exploring family, community and loss.” Set on the banks of the River Severn on the Welsh border, it has become increasingly relevant since publication as the effects of climate change are felt, with floods and protest alike.

Someone Else’s Conflict, also published by Honno Press, is a compelling narrative of trust, love and betrayal, storytelling and war, that sweeps the reader from present-day Yorkshire to the 1990s conflict in Croatia. “A surprisingly sensitive and compassionate thriller with subtle, clever writing…. At its heart it is a story about friendship, responsibility, remorse and how the past can incarcerate and command everyday lives.” LoveReading.co.uk (Debut of the Month)
