About the artist:

‘Untitled (Convolutes)’ is one of a larger series of composite artworks developed for the exhibition ‘Arranging by chance’ at Bundoora Homestead Arts Centre (October 20205 - February 2026). The work combines collaborative multiple exposure photography across two key sites—the decommissioned Nufarm Factory in Fawkner and the AIDS Memorial Garden outside the old Infectious Diseases Hospital in Fairfield—as well as hand treated papers from locally made plant dyes foraged along the Merri Creek adjacent to the factory. This work is the result of research into family trees, queerness, toxicity and healing. Specifically, it considers the family tree as a vegetal, material and symbolic form, positioning it in relation to ‘pharmakon’—the idea that a poison is also a remedy.
