The Art of Courage wall at Battlefords Union Hospital isn’t just a display, it’s a tribute to the strength, resilience, and grace of those touched by cancer. This wall has grown into a sanctuary of hope and inspiration, a place where each symbol speaks directly to the soul. At the heart of this collection is a young bald eagle, wings spread wide, soaring confidently toward the horizon. The young eagle represents courage in its purest form, the kind that pushes forward even in the face of uncertainty. For patients journeying through cancer, this eagle embodies the strength needed to face the unknown, encouraging them to trust their inner bravery and rise above. Next to it, the smiling coyote radiates a sense of calm and peace. With a gentle smile, the coyote teaches us to find moments of joy during challenges, to laugh, and to feel peace within, even when the world feels heavy. This symbol speaks directly to patients, reminding them to cherish moments of light and laughter along the way. And then, there’s the powerful image of a moose, mid-leap over a fence. Known for its quiet and unwavering strength, the moose symbolizes the resilience needed to overcome any hurdle. Its stance, bold and determined, reflects the courage required to keep going no matter how tough the journey becomes.
