A boat trip with my friend Chris Lawrence out to Cushing Island in Casco Bay put us in the right spot to capture the moon coming up right behind Ram Island Ledge Lighthouse. Instead of using Photoshop, I like to line shots like this up in real life using a long lens to make the moon appear extremely large in the frame when juxtaposed with the distant lighthouse.
