About this item

Newlyn is a cow who looks like she still has a lot to give. She moves beautifully and still springs around the paddock like a teenager at times. She is genetically unique - her sire is a black Canadian bull who produces big bodied animals with good feet (Duboise LeCoq (Can 12293), aka "The Rooster"), and her dam is the matriarch of many of the Bairnsley female lines, Neila Og of Bairnsley (4450) - quite some pedigree.

Newlyn has good feet, a great udder and a lot of volume and heart room. She can be brushed in the paddock, and was shown back in her younger days. She is a tribute to the breed still going strong at 16 years old - holding together in a way that you would not see in any other beef or dairy animal.

Newlyn has produced a number of great calves for us over the years, and is currently running with our stock bull, Seumus Dubh of Bairnsley (9233) (http://www.bairnsley.com/A-Seumus%20Ruadh.htm) with a likely calving in May/June 2023.
