Samera Kamaleddine is a Sydney-based children's author who believes every child should feel seen in books.

For this auction, she is offering students of one lucky Sydney primary school an "afternoon tea with an author" experience based on her middle-grade book, The Sideways Orbit of Evie Hart, which was shortlisted for the 2024 CBCA Book of the Year Award for Younger Readers. Evie's favourite thing to do after school is scoff felafels at her best friend's felafel shop - so if your school is in Sydney, Samera will visit for a Q&A session armed with felafels; perfect for Stage 3 students interested in books and writing! The school will also receive a signed copy of The Sideways Orbit of Evie Hart for their library.
