Please note: this is a physical item and will only be posted within Australia.
Local French born artist Sylvie Leber has been peering down microscopes since the age of seven and also at this age was given her first art book of Henri Rousseau’s paintings. The dye was cast eventually leading to a stint doing research at Melbourne Uni. using an electron microscope.
Although Sylvie has a Degree in Applied Biology and a Diploma of Art and Design, she has progressed her art by doing botanical art and insect illustration classes at the Botanic Gardens and a stint of lessons in Japanese Sumi-e painting.
Her science-related art may appear genteel and reminiscent of a bygone era, but she also has a passion for street art, contemporary music, storytelling and activism.
