Tatiana Pogorelsky was born in 1946 in Leningrad (now St. Petersburg). In 1973 she graduated from the St. Petersburg Theater Academy (MA), department of scenography. In parallel, for a year she studied at the Moscow Polygraphic Institute. In 1999, Tanya, in collaboration with I. Dvorkin, A. Rokhlin and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, organized a group of Russian Jewish artists “Pgishot,” which took part in several university conferences and exhibitions. In 2001, 2002, 2003, Tanya takes part in expeditions to places related to the history of Eastern European Jewry – a joint project of the St. Petersburg Hebrew University and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The works of Tania Pogorelsky are in the Museum of Fine Arts in Vilnius, in the Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow, in the Museum of Oriental Art in Moscow, as well as in private collections in the USA, Russia, Germany, Holland, England and Israel. Since 2008, Tania Pogorelsky lives and works in Israel.
