Lera Barshtein was born in Moscow in 1961. In 1981, she graduated from the Moscow State Academic Art School in Memory of 1905, and has been a member of the Moscow Artists Union since 1983. She made aliyah to Israel in 1990. A member of the International Association of Art (IAA) since 1992.
Awards: The First Prize of the Janusz Korczak International Picture Competition (1983).

Lera's works are displayed in private collections and in the holocaust museum Yad vaShem in Jerusalem.
Since her childhood, she listened to holocaust stories told to her by her relatives. At 18, she decided that she has to remind people about the holocaust with her art. In 1983, she took first place in an International art competition "Yanush korzak through my eyes" hosted in Warsaw.
