Inna Linov: “My current artistic practice stems mostly from the background of two immigrations.
While living in Israel I have found myself striving to interpret new experiences through clues familiar from the previous world. The symbolism in my works often is a derivative of composing two mostly foreign cultures – Soviet Ukraine and Israel. The subjects of womanhood, romantic love and local folklore receive new and unexpected meanings while combining pieces from the two worlds.  The different experiences have transformed into multiple layers of characters and objects, that appear as part of my visual vocabulary. Even the palette has been largely informed by the climate of Jerusalem and the surrounding areas. Dark earthy browns combined with deep ochre, infused with green and vivid yellow were part of the daily view and easily found their way onto the canvas.”
