Melbourne-based artist Heidi Yardley explores uncanny worlds of the familiar and strange in her depictions of fractured figures, scenes and still lives. Yardley completed a Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting at Monash University in 1995 and Honours in Drawing at RMIT in 1999. The artist has been the recipient of several grants and residencies, including Artist in Residence Point B Artist Worklodge, NYC, USA (2014 & 2011) and the Ian Potter Cultural Trust Grant (2014 & 2011). Yardley has also been a finalist in a number of significant prizes including the Archibald Prize (2016, 2014 & 2013), The Wynne Prize (2016), The Doug Moran National Portrait Prize (2013, 2011, 2009) and The Brett Whiteley Travelling Art Scholarship (2004, 2002, 2000). She exhibits regularly in solo and group exhibitions and her work is held in numerous public and private collections, including the BHP Billiton Collection, The University of Queensland Art Museum and the Art Gallery of Ballarat.

Heidi Yardley has chosen to donate 100% of the proceeds from this work to Animals Australia.

Animals Australia are providing immediate support to expert wildlife vets to travel to fire-devastated areas - where they are helping any surviving animals, and ensuring local wildlife carers have the support and resources they need. They are also channelling much-needed funds directly to groups, vets and individuals helping animals in the hardest hit regions. They will also be assisting with the longer-term needs of affected wildlife, who have lost their habitats and their food source.
