"This piece was a lot about rediscovering the joy of experimenting in my art as well as embracing things I love about art. Hands are common subject matter in my work, I find them beautiful and expressive and I often use my own hands as references. Due to nerve compression and damage from my disorders I've been losing feeling and reflex in my right hand which makes me want to capture them in art all the more. This painting was done in a glazing technique, letting each layer of paint dry completely before applying the next and applying numerous layers to create an unmatched sense of depth in the colors. I make the watercolors I use and I love the organic way they behave when I let them wildly spread across the background layers, building contrast with the sharply defined hands. To me, this painting is about embracing what I love, exploring new paths, and being free to dream and wonder." -Frey Morrigan
