K/1 Colourfly

This class auction piece by K/1 is entitled ‘Colourfly’. The class worked with four different liquid watercolours and used brushes to apply them to watercolour paper. The students dabbed paint in random places, observing the colours bleed into each other and creating a background as unique as each of them! A butterfly shape was then cut from each background and placed in the frame at various heights to create a sense of depth and movement.
