Dumiduni Illangasinghe | Eunoia's Glow
About this item
Dumiduni Illangasinghe (b.1997, Sri Lanka) is a Sri Lankan visual artist working across painting, installation, and research-based material practices. Her work explores fragility, transformation, healing, and interconnectedness through ecological thinking and material experimentation. Drawing inspiration from mycelial networks, feminist ecologies, and South Asian cultural traditions,
her practice investigates how systems of care, resilience, and regeneration emerge within conditions of rupture and impermanence. Invisible mycelial threads capable of sustaining, connecting, and renewing ecosystems inform her artistic language as metaphors for relationality and collective survival. Through organic forms, immersive installations, and material interventions, Illangasinghe examines the
entanglements between human and more-than-human worlds, proposing modes of
coexistence grounded in interdependence, care, and transformation. Illangasinghe recently completed her MFA in Painting at Banaras Hindu University, India,
and received her BFA in Painting from the University of Visual and Performing Arts,
Colombo, Sri Lanka, in 2023.
Her works have been exhibited at India Art Fair – Artists in Residence, New Delhi (2026); KHOJ Studios, New Delhi (2025); Saskia Fernando Gallery, Colombo (2026, 2024); the International Exhibition of Painting, Nepal Academy of Fine Arts, Kathmandu (2024); and the Colomboscope Interdisciplinary Arts Festival, Colombo (2024). Between 2024 and 2026, she participated in several exhibitions in Varanasi, India. In 2023, she participated in the Degree Show and In Between: Matter and Materiality exhibitions at the JDA Perera Gallery, Colombo.
