Alex Whitlam is an Australian born visual artist working in a variety of mediums. After a career in visual effects, Alex moved to the Northern Rivers to pursue his passion for the visual arts. He is currently studying for the Bachelor of Art and Design at Southern Cross University, where he continues to investigate and explore expression in digital and analog art.
This piece (2021) looks at white Australian heritage and our colonial past. The 'heroic' imagery of the mounted Queensland policeman hides the uncomfortable truth of our past.
