Donald Gordon Fraser
Born in 1921 in Charlton, Northern Ontario, Don Fraser attended OCAD in Toronto, graduating in 1944. In the big city he earned his living for 30 years as a professional Scenic Artist with CBC Television. But by 1986 the rugged beauty of the granite and the marshes of the Laurentian Shield drew him to Queensborough, Ontario, where he lived and painted in his final years. Donald Gordon Fraser's name is listed on the Government of Canada's Canadian Heritage website under Artists in Canada.
Fraser drew this portrait when he visited a refugee camp in San Cristobal de las Casas.
