19. Keiron Anderson Bauble 2025

Kieron Boona Anderson is a direct descendant of the Ngugi people of Moreton Island and the Kullilli people of far west Queensland. He is deeply committed to the continuation and respectful sharing of knowledge passed down through his grandfather’s freshwater country and his grandmother’s saltwater country. Drawing on this lineage, Kieron combines his skills as a trained chef and an emerging contemporary artist to tell stories that bridge tradition and innovation, with a strong focus on cultural resilience and food sovereignty. 

Currently undertaking a Bachelor of Contemporary Australian Indigenous Art, Kieron explores site-specific and place-based practices. He works with natural materials that honour Country, amplify its significance, and acknowledge the histories embedded in each landscape. This is evident in his bauble, which features barnacles, sand from Country, and hand-made string, reflecting both his connection to place and his respect for cultural knowledge. He is a newly appointed curator at the Museum of Brisbane. 

Kieron has contributed to the latest Quandamooka x Magpie Goose clothing collection and is a valued friend and supporter of Aboriginal Art Co. Through his creative practice, he continues to build meaningful connections between people, culture, Country, and community.
