Great Meats Co. was established by restaurateurs, Mitch Davis and Gavin Gray, by sourcing the best cuts of meat for their bistros throughout Sydney. In a gesture to help their mates out who owned top restaurants through Sydney, they would pass on their knowledge and advice on how to secure the best cuts to those friends and marking the beginning of the Great Meats wholesale business.

It proved to be a popular proposition, with Mitch and Gav opening a retail store at the old AC Butchery site in Leichhardt. Great Meats Co. now provides premium wagyu, dry aged cuts, artisan sausages, free range pork and more direct to the public, with the best advice from the experienced chefs and speciality butchers who staff Great Meats.
