Aidan Rowlingson is a proud Butchulla man from K'gari and the Wide Bay area and a multidisciplinary artist and theatre producer based in Magandjin/Meeanjin (Brisbane).

Aidan has just completed an 8 week artist residency with Aboriginal Art Co, where he worked upstairs in our studio space to create the body of work featured in the current BIG FACE exhibition. 

Aidan’s visual arts practice spans a wide range of mediums, including sculpture, textiles, fashion and costume, and text-based art. He believes that "I only make something when I have something to say. The medium has to fit the message," a philosophy that drives the intention behind his work.

Aidan has a diverse creative background. After graduating from the University of Canberra with a Bachelor of Acting and Performance, he has worked in both classical and contemporary theater, performed original poetry at local events, and used visual art as a powerful vehicle to continue telling stories from his perspective.
