The Gifts of Reading, Essays on the joys of reading, giving and receiving books, is an anthology inspired by British writer Robert Macfarlane and curated by Jennie Orchard, with all royalties donated to global literacy nonprofit Room to Read. The anthology includes 23 essays by literary luminaries including William Boyd, Roddy Doyle, Michael Ondaatje, and three wonderful Australian writers – Sisonke Msimang, Alice Pung and Markus Zusak.
Originally released in the UK in hardback in September 2020, this edition is now out of print.
