Working on the sculpture project has made me realize how working with other people has helped me learn more and become a better welder. Multiple people working together generates more ideas and makes the project look better. Making these projects to raise money really helps the community. I am really happy that this benefits others.

Nicholas Maines Letchworth Senior

During my second year in the Metal Trades program, I have improved my skills, as well as put them to the test with the sculpture project. I enjoyed working with Sam and Jeremy. We got to put our skills together to create something that would stand out to the community. We worked together to create a garden gnome from the parts we were given. I hope that through our efforts we can bring attention to a wonderful cause and that we will be able to raise a lot of money so that many more people can visit and understand the importance of the warplane museum.

During my time at BOCES, I’ve realized that I really like Metal Trades. Through my participation in the sculpture project, I learned that I truly enjoy working independently. Although, I did like working with my friend, Nick Maines. Working on the garden gnome was fun, but it was a long process.
