About this item

In Russia's far east there is the rare subspecies of Amur Leopard. Nimble-footed and strong, it carries and hides unfinished kills so that they are not taken by other predators. It has been reported that some males stay with females after mating, and may even help with rearing the young. There is no definitive answer as to why the population numbers are in the decline, though it is speculated as an environmental cause.

Remaining in the wild: 85.

This papier-mâché art piece was carefully crafted by Silk Laundry Brisbane Store Manger Carla Binotto, using recycled paper from old Silk Laundry magazines and chicken wire.

When Katie Kolodinski came up with the Endangered Species capsule she wanted to spread awareness about some of the critically endangered animals and plants living in our ecosystem. With these pieces, we want to raise awareness that the loss of a species also points to bigger issues within our interconnected ecosystems. By purchasing this item, understand that 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Fauna and Flora International, a charity dedicated to saving endangered wildlife.
