Are you an aspiring/ emerging writer or upcoming debut with questions about the publishing industry? Do you have questions about writing, pitching to agents and publishers, what happens once you sign a publishing deal, publicity or promotion? This is your chance to ask us all your burning questions.

What you'll receive: a chance to chat writing and publishing with authors, Hayley Scrivenor and Dinuka McKenzie at a cafe in the Illawarra/ Wollongong area on a mutually agreed date and time, sometime in the next six months. We'll shout you the cake and coffee. We'll also throw in a signed copy of our latest books! If you're outside the Wollongong/ Illawarra area, the meeting will be held via zoom (one hour min).

Hayley Scrivenor is the author of Dirt Town, which was published internationally in 2022 (published as Dirt Creek in the U.S., where it was a USA TODAY bestseller) and quickly became a #1 Australian bestseller. The novel has been shortlisted for multiple national and international awards and translated into several languages. In 2023, Dirt Town won the ILP John Creasey (New Blood) Dagger, the Lambda Literary Award for LGBTQ+ Mystery and the ABIA for General Fiction Book of the Year. Her second novel, Girl Falling, will be released in the second half of 2024.

Dinuka McKenzie is the author of the Detective Kate Miles crime series, The Torrent, Taken and Tipping Point published in Australia and the UK. She is the winner of the 2020 HarperCollins Australia Banjo Prize. Her writing has been shortlisted for the Sisters in Crime Davitt Awards, the Bad Sydney Crime Danger Awards, longlisted for the Richell Prize, and highly commended in the Australian Crime Writers Association, Louie Award.
