'I am an Aboriginal artist and Cultural Advisor from Perth, Western Australia. I come from a strong line of Noongar ancestors from the Whadjuk tribe. I am certified in Visual Arts and Tourism. My cultural tours and art are based around history, facts and creation stories that are hundreds of years old. My main aim is to positively educate, showcase Aboriginal Culture and give creative thought to my dreamtime culture and way of life. My artwork is a visual display of Aboriginal culture, the artwork can bring forth thoughts and engagement between viewers. I started painting as a young man to refl ect on my time spent with my grandparents and how important the therapeutic art is. A lot of my artwork is a representation of my traditional lands (Nyungar boodja) and the important spiritual being of the boodja (country). For me art can have a majestic eff ect on individuals, sometimes it can change their mood and hopefully change their day for an individual. Positively educating and displaying aboriginal art is a way to reconcile amongst the community. Displaying Aboriginal art and showcasing the ancient history of Perth is something that I am very passionate about. Bringing awareness about the ancient history of the land we walk on, I believe is a subtle but aff ective way to engage with the community and important learning we should all know about. I am hopeful education and awareness will help lead to preservation and management of our significant sites, boodja and culture.'
