The art of quilting has been a part of Arrowmont's rich history from the settlement school days. “In the 1970's, the quilt gained status as an art form. Quilts began to reflect artistic trends, feminist positions, and personal feelings.” Margaret Bowman’s quilt is a reflection of her time in East Tennessee and features our state flower, the Flowering Dogwood.
