About the Artist
Erika Sorby is a painter, drawer and printmaker residing in regional NSW. A qualified teaching academic, Erika explores the strength and passion of the female portraiture alongside still-life assemblages which reference a contrast of raw yet refined elegance. Predominantly working with oils, as well as drawing and linocut, Erika captures the finery of classic materials with powerful bold strokes of colour and line. Erika has recently been awarded several regional art prizes and exhibited in an impressive list of group shows on the Eastern seaboard.
