Query Package Review (UK) by Emma Read

Emma Read is offering editorial feedback on a typical, UK literary agent query package: your first three chapters, a cover letter and a single-page synopsis. Chapters up to 10K words; synopsis may be single-spaced. The review will include line edits to your cover letter and synopsis and feedback on your chapters, including, but not limited to: impact, pace, character, suitability for reader age, commercial appeal, sense-checking, exposition and style.

Emma Read is a children’s author, editor, writing mentor and tutor. Her first book, Milton the Mighty, featured in The Times as one of the best children’s books of 2019. It also won the North Somerset Teachers Book Award and was shortlisted for the Bath Children’s Novel Award. Emma is also a freelance editor, specialising in children's fiction. Her clients range from first-drafting aspiring writers, self-published authors to traditional publishing houses. In addition, she is a creative writing mentor, tutor, and long-time contributor with WriteMentor, as well as a tutor with Creative Writing Ink. Emma also runs an afterschool writing club and delivers events at schools, libraries, and festivals. Her passion and specialty are in editorial for children’s fiction, from chapter books to YA, but she is also experienced in reviewing picture books and adult novels.
