Middle-grade mentoring with Clare Povey

Clare Povey is offering a pack of three one-hour mentoring sessions to a middle-grade fiction writer. As part of this, she will read and review the opening 10k of their manuscript before our first session. For the following two sessions, she will read and review further work and is happy to come to an agreement with the chosen writer.
Clare is the author of the Bastien Bonlivre Adventures, published by Usborne. The first book, The Unexpected Tale of Bastien Bonlivre, a middle grade mystery adventure set in 1920's Paris, was Waterstones Children’s Book of the Month in September 2021. The sequel, The Bad Brothers, published in July 2022. Clare was born and raised in Barking & Dagenham. She studied French at the University of Sheffield and lived in Lille working as an English teacher in several primary schools. She works on the Writers & Artists website (www.writers and artists.co.uk) and established the Writers' & Artists' Working-Class Writers' Prize, providing writers with author mentoring and publishing opportunities and support.
