1 hour chat with Australian Musician Richard Burgman (The Sunnyboys)
About this item
In 1980, guitarist Richard Burgman joined the Oxley brothers Peter and Jeremy and drummer Bil Bilson in what was to become the legendary band The Sunnyboys. Their brand of sixties surf tinged rock-pop with a nod to The Remains packed out venues whenever and wherever they played. Sunnyboys ‘MK1’ lasted until 1984 releasing four albums that held seven very successful singles.
In 1986 he had a short stint with The Saints touring Europe on an acclaimed tour. The band Weddings, Parties, Anything was Richard’s next tenure for about at year and enjoying Canada so much decided to move there.
Today, Richard commutes back to Australia occasionally for sporadic revivals with the original The Sunnyboys line-up, selling out every gig they play!
