More about Suzanne:

Suzanne Collier is an award-winning Careers Advisor to the Book Publishing Industry and the founder of bookcareers.com.

Suzanne Collier has been actively working in book publishing since 1983 and has worked in every aspect of the book industry. This has given her an understanding and insight into how jobs connect and people work together. Under the bookcareers.com name, Suzanne has promoted industry careers widely in the Trade and National Press, across other media and throughout a variety of educational establishments. She is often speaking on industry panels or lecturing on careers within book publishing.

Having created and devised such things as the Careers Clinic, which now runs at the London Book Fair, and the Salary Survey for book publishing, and the author of How to Job Search in Book Publishing, it is fair to say that as a qualified Careers Advisor, no one knows more about Book Publishing than Suzanne Collier. Her filofax has been described as a “who’s who” of book publishing and she has been named as one of the best sales and marketing brains in the industry.

As well as having her own bookcareer®, Suzanne has been giving careers advice on book publishing since 1989, and for many years ran bookcareers.com whilst holding down a full-time job within the industry. Suzanne still actively works within the industry and knows only too well, that when a decision is made within a company, for whatever reason, its implications on those that work there can be far-reaching.

Suzanne has also had a high number of personal achievements – as well as bookcareers she is the winner of the prestigious Pandora Award and has been shortlisted for other industry awards too – the IPG Services to Publishing and the CDI Research Award. She is professionally qualified in career guidance and development, trained in coaching and various personal development techniques, she is a qualified aerobics teacher, was the youngest person ever to Chair the Society of Young Publishers and used to run the Supporters Club for her local football team. When Suzanne isn’t working or socialising within publishing, she enjoys cycling, spending time with friends and family or watching Dagenham & Redbridge FC.
