1-1 mentoring session with book editor Anna Barrett (#77)

I'd love to offer a 1-hour Zoom call, along with a read of up to 10,000 words – this can be prose, a selection of chapters or stories, a submission package for agents, or ideas in progress; whatever would be helpful to discuss on the call. As well as talking about your project, I can answer questions about the general publishing process and getting an agent, and advise on any next steps you might like to take. Note that I work on adult fiction and non-fiction; children's and YA projects would not be for me to critique.

Anna Barrett (née Hogarty) is a book editor at The Writer's Space. Previous to this, she worked for the Madeleine Milburn Literary Agency as an agent and in-house editor for a number of years. She's worked in the editorial departments of John Murray, Hodder & Stoughton, Headline and Atlantic Books, and has freelanced for many additional publishers including Penguin, HarperCollins/HQ, Macmillan and Little, Brown. She's a reader for the Faber Academy and a book doctor for Jericho Writers, and she also teaches yoga, with a specialism for non-fiction in that area.
