#13 Jon-Paul Villegas: "Untitled"

Jon-Paul Villegas (b. 1972), lives and works in New York. Jon-Paul Villegas was 
predominantly inspired by the 1980s. The generation of artists that grew up in, and 
took inspiration from, the nineteen eighties were influenced by a period of quickly 
growing global capitalism, political upheaval, notable wealth differences, global 
mass media and distinctive music and fashion, including electronic pop music and 
hip hop. Jon-Paul Villegas is taking the above categories into his artistic practice. 
The work was purchased at an art fair in 2004.
