About this item

Artist Michaye Boulter is offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience staying six nights at her Bruny Island home and a 3-hour eco-cruise with Pennicott Wilderness Journeys.

Michaye Boulter and her partner, Australian Tourism Legend, Rob Pennicott of Pennicott Wildreness Journeys are offering one lucky bidder a week-long stay in their glorious family home, not normally available for rental, on South Bruny Island in Tasmania. The pair built the home 16 years ago and the landscape has served as inspiration for Boulter for much of her practice. Situated on 40 acres, not a neighbour in sight, the private house accommodates four and is approximately 2 hours from Hobart.

Boulter will meet the winner bidders party in Hobart (flights and hire car not included) and guide them down to Bruny, showing them some of her favourite special places off the beaten track and settling them into the house (being off-grid there are a few things to explain). The experience includes a 3-hour eco-cruise for two with Pennicott Wilderness Journeys leaving from Adventure Bay on Bruny and lunch at Rob's beachfront seafood restaurant.

It is advised that the winner hires a car and brings along food for the duration of the stay, bedding and towels etc are provided. Dates are flexible and the winner can negotiate a time that suits both them and Michaye and her family.

This is truly a once in a lifetime experience. Please contact the gallery if you have any questions about this prize. Happy Bidding!

Tasmanian artist Michaye Boulter's masterful paintings chart the paradoxical vastness and intimacy of the ocean. Having spent much of her life on the sea, Boulter draws from a wellspring of experience in capturing the transformative and transcendent tenor of the endless ocean. Boulter holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Tasmania, and her work has been exhibited extensively around the country. The artist was a finalist in the Wynne Prize (2019), John Glover Prize (2017, 2012, 2010, 2009 and 2008), Tattersalls Art Prize (2017), Paddington Art Prize (2016) and John Leslie Art Prize (2014). Her work is also held in various public and private collections around Australia, including the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery and Parliament House, Canberra.

Donations to the fund have already powered their nationwide response to the bushfires since they began in September.
