Inspired by the explorations of love and romance in the traditions of Pahari miniature painting, Yuwantha Yasas returns to the subject of Sringāra in his second solo exhibition “The Horizon of Love” at Paradise Road Galleries. Sringāra is the highest pinnacle of emotional expression. It encapsulates passion, romance and affection and is endowed with the capacity to elicit myriad emotions. In its most selfless and purest form Sringāra becomes Bhakti where love changes into devotion and passion embodies divine love. This transformational quality of romantic love is the subject of Yasas’s contemplation in this new series. The Southern Coast of Sri Lanka and the colours inspired by the setting sun create an ethereal realm as the artist takes us into a world where love and innocence endure.
