ARTIST BIO

Prageeth Manohansa sculptural pieces transform banal scrap metal into stunning images of life and beauty that breathe with movement and emotion, capturing the same dynamic spirit of his charcoal drawings on paper. He completed his BFA in Sculpture from the University of Kelaniya in 2005. The artist has presented solo exhibitions of his work at Gallerie Steph, Singapore (2012) and Saskia Fernando Gallery, Sri Lanka (2014) besides being a part of group shows in London, Dubai and India.

CONCEPT

Prageeth Manohanasa's interpretation of the ginger jar combines his calligraphic control of the brush with the sprightly qualities of earliest paintings done by humankind on the cave walls of Lascaux
